A change is as good as a holiday!

Monday 12 March 2012

Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and settle in for our regular start to the week by snooping about someone else’s home. The home I found for our Monday house tour has a neutral colour scheme, which is not always my taste (I love a pop of colour just like the next person) but I also like the thought of having a blank slate. The owners deliberately chose neutral and muted colours for major pieces of furniture as they like to mix things up a bit by regularly changing accessories, pillows, throws and flowers to keep the space looking fresh and fun.

Do you regularly change colours, accessories and furniture in your home?

  2. That's my kind of color palette! I'm a neutral girl, what can I say? I think it's clever what the owners did to choose neutral furniture and change things up when spring comes with some pops of color and some fresh flower! This is exactly what I do! Have a nice day!

  4. I love a neutral base. I'm with you on the pops of color, but neutral tones just float my boat- i love them. This house looks so cozy.

  5. What a beautiful home! The first three photos are especially coz. I don't redecorate often- maybe I should? The house is more or less done!

  6. It looks cosy and warm. Just like you, I would add a pop of colour here and there. Yes, I often rearrange the furniture, change the decorative objects and the colour of the accessories around the house. Small changes, great effect. :)

  7. I wish I could move things around more often in my home but some of the furniture is too large to budge. I do try out different layouts often, though. And yes, accessories are the easiest to switch around. I can see where the pops of color are in this home. Absolutely love that oversize mirror.

  10. A neutral backdrop is a good idea. You know me, I would add loads more colour in cushions and artwork. But you're right, as soon as you grow tired of your bright orange cushions, you can easily swap them out for your new fav. xxx

  12. Smokin' photos of the NH. Love all of the interior shots, looks stylish and cosy. I change things round in summer, remove throws, candles and anything wintery and put in pots of plants, daffs. I even curate the collections on my mantlepiece, I love mixing up photos, mementos and cards.
