Hit the deck!

Wednesday 21 March 2012

I blogged about my love of porches here a few weeks ago and the great outdoors have been on my mind ever since. I spent a lot of the weekend with my nose pressed up against the window watching the rain beat down wondering if spring would ever come (all this scene was missing was someone playing the harmonica and a howling dog). It was not all unproductive wallowing though as I did a lot of thinking and boy do I have a lot of plans for my little garden – budget and energy levels permitting of course. My first priority is to inject some colour into the garden and get my little deck looking a little less sad and a lot more inviting. Top of my shopping list is an outdoor carpet, oversized fairy lights and brightly coloured patio cushions. Here’s my inspiration…

  3. I dream of colorful, comfy decks to sip iced tea on. And for now, it remains a dream. I loooove the idea of fairy lights! I'm definitely backing you up on that choice.

  8. There is a lot of inspiration here. I really like the image where the top is covered by what looks like baskets as lighting. Can't wait to see how your project turns out!

  10. The landscaper came today to clean up the rest of the leaves and now the daffodils have some room to breath... spending more time in the yard is one of my goals this spring!

  11. Oh my goodness Meghan, this post couldn't have come at a better time! My husband and I are in the midst of designing a new deck for our house and these pics are such a great source of inspiration. I especially love the very simple deck off of the little white beach house. Adorable.
