My Fair London – Soho and Chinatown

Friday, 29 July 2011

I’m sure every city has a slightly risqué/seedy area that’s quite fun to visit but probably wouldn’t be a riot to live in? Well Soho and Chinatown fits this category for London. Jordan used to work in Soho (no, not at Prowler) so on Sunday morning I requested a guided tour of the area - probably not the best destination for a Sunday morning but I wanted to beat the weekend shopping crowds. It took some convincing for him to want to go there as it’s a little grungy (tip: don’t wear nice shoes after a Saturday night) and smelly but I am fascinated by it. The mixture of swanky office buildings with sex shops, upmarket restaurants and 19th century buildings creates a really fun and vibrant area.  And then just when you think it can’t get any weirder, you find yourself slap bang right in the middle of Chinatown!

Man Down!

Thursday, 28 July 2011

That’s right people, I got the dreaded lurgy! Only 2 days ago I was waxing lyrical about my glowing health since stopping smoking and now I have been struck down by a nasty cold. Oh well, nevermind. I am feeling better already after browsing through the swoon-worthy pictures of the Blakes Hotel in Kensington. Elle calls it:  “The most discreet, sexy and flamboyant Hotel in London”. Want to see why? Go ahead! I love the beautiful white Corfu suite the most.

Italian Charm

Wednesday, 27 July 2011

Today I thought we would take a little trip to Italy. Are you game? If so, then follow me… we’ll start by shopping up a storm, focusing mainly on buying up Italy’s supply of designer handbags and shoes. We can then take a break and rest our aching feet in a street-side cafe and eat our fill of fresh pasta followed by a generous helping of gelato. We’ll then walk off the heavy meal by doing a bit of sight seeing and soaking up some culture. We’ll then pack a little picnic basket and take a leisurely drive in our Lamborghini to our countryside villa where we will set up camp on the sun-drenched hills sipping some ice cold prosecco and watching the sun go down.

Too bad I have to go to work! Bummer.
