One of my biggest weaknesses is my lack of patience. When I want something, I want it NOW. So when I came across pictures of Sissinghurst Castle in November last year, I wanted to go that very minute. It took a lot of reasoning (and maybe some foot stamping) for me to agree with Jordan, that perhaps the dead of winter was not the best time to visit somewhere known for their enchanting gardens. And so the waiting began, we had rain, we had snow and we had freezing temperatures. So when the sun finally came out and the flowers finally started to make an appearance, we pounced. It was worth the wait. I thought the gardens deserved a post all by themselves.

ReplyDeleteIt seems sometimes patience pays off. It would have been a shame to miss all of this beauty! And I have to agree with everyone else that last photo is just amazing! I don't think I have ever seen that flower before.
