It’s all in the Swedish details…

Tuesday, 23 October 2012

The touristy shots are next on my list [I promise]. But today I am all about the charming details of Stockholm. If it’s possible, almost every restaurant, hotel and shop we encountered looked so warm and inviting – most had candles burning at their entrances, or benches and stools complete with fluffy blankets to keep away the winter chill. We weren’t sure whether this was a Stockholmer thing or if this is just how they role in Sweden. Apart from the scented candles (oh yes, did I mention that they were scented??) and inviting seating, there was also an abundance of cheerful potted plants, naturally colour co-ordinated in deep autumnal hues.

  4. Beautiful... I love the red thread of the potted plants running through all the shots, esp. the redish plant in the concrete conical pot.

  7. The blankets are a great idea as I have a special relationship with them :))). And those potted plants, especially the red and pink one revitalize and warms the cold Swedish weather, well, so I imagine. I visited Stockholm a couple of years ago and I was impressed by it, it is such a beautiful city. Kisses

  8. Hey pretty! I think because I'm so used to seeing Swedish interiors, all stark-white and sparse and design-y, I'm so stunned to see Swedish exteriors be so full of color and charm and whimsy! Who would have thought? Looks amazing. your photos are definitely making me bump Stockholm up a few notches on my travel list.
