Bumming Around In Bangalow

Sunday, 19 July 2015

We stole off for a weekend away to Byron Bay about a month ago and it already feels like a lifetime ago. It was my first time so far north of New South Wales and I was once again taken aback at how much the landscape and temperature changes in Australia, without even having to leave the same state. True to form, we couldn’t stay in one place for too long and did a bit of exploring of the neighbouring towns. Bangalow was one such town. Filled with artists and beautiful little shops, it was the perfect place to spend a sleep morning. Island Luxe, we will meet again, hopefully when I have a few more dollars to spare.

The Finisher

Friday, 17 July 2015

I’m finishing the week in the same way I started, with a bit of free spirit. In reality, it’s been pure nuts and I am fresh out of energy for the weekend. But I don’t think anything says easy, breezy as well as a brightly patterned kimono?

Sit Down, Feet Up

Wednesday, 15 July 2015

I have pictures. Hundreds of pictures. Of our quick trip to Byron Bay, of sunny walks around Sydney, of sunsets and sunrises from the beach, of our weekend in Jervis Bay, and of the time I saw a wombat on Sunday (yes, that’s right, one of my 2015 goals has been realised). But in order to get them, I will need to get up and turn on Jordan’s computer. This is one step too far for me today. So you will have to make do with pictures of my current obsession. These leather dining chairs. For those of you sharing the same obsession, the closest (most reasonable) version I could find was from Rocket St George. Some kind soul from the UK, please take pity on my challenging geography and send me one? Pretty please?

The Simple Life

Monday, 13 July 2015

It’s Monday so naturally I am after simplicity. A simple commute, simple Monday morning meetings, simple (but warm) wardrobe, simple dinners, simple Monday night television. To reinforce my mood, I’m blogging about a Tribeca loft-style apartment that made my heart sing. Clean lines paired with painted brick. White linen paired with minimal clutter. It’s my Monday mood, all wrapped up in a pretty Tribeca-shaped box.

White Shirt Confessions

Thursday, 9 July 2015

Ah, the classic white shirt. We are in the depths of winter here in Sydney (I may have mentioned that once or twice recently) and that white shirt certainly doesn’t have the same crisp and fresh feel when you are bundled in a Michelin-Man coat, but I still can’t relegate it to the back of the cupboard for the colder months. Summer days, please hurry up!

From My Mind’s Eye

Wednesday, 1 July 2015

Sometimes I stumble across a house/cottage/apartment that feels like has been stolen straight from my mind’s eye. This Massachusetts cottage is one such example. It epitomises everything I want in a home. I don’t even think it’s necessary for me to list out all the things I adore about it. They are just there, in plain sight for all to see.

You’re welcome.
