My Fair London – The Suburbs…

Tuesday 15 May 2012

Just around the corner from where we live, is a little wooded common area where people go to walk their dogs, do their yoga or sometimes get up to no good. In the winter, it remains a desolate, cold and horrible place but in the summer, it becomes a lush green haven. But by far, my favourite aspect of this park is the surrounding houses. It’s certainly not the wealthiest area in London, but the residents are obviously very house proud. Each garden is immaculate, gates and fencing have been meticulously painted and you can be sure that on a summer’s day, everyone is out in their gardens having a barbeque or playing cricket on the common.

  4. What gorgeous facades and gardens! I have always loved daydreaming as I stroll through different neighborhoods and admiring beautiful homes both grand and simple. My favorite is the second to last house with the white gate.

  11. Oh how I love ........ it's funny here in Canada, we are modelled after London or the "British" and a lot of the architecture used to match that of what you have shown above, same with the gardens etc. Unfortunately, we are losing the root of where it came from here and there is not only less gardens but beautiful homes in the "rich" areas are being torn down because the only people that can afford them are immigrants who have a whole other idea as to what is beautiful so to see this makes me smile.
