Now isn’t that clever?

Wednesday 13 June 2012

The emergence of blogs and Pinterest, in particular, has definitely made me flex my mind more creatively. I am always in total awe of just how many clever ladies are out there who can take something surely destined straight for the bin, and turn it into something not only useful but creative and pretty too. I now find myself looking at every day objects around the house and wondering just how I could put them to better use. My all time favourite upcycle/recycle projects almost always involve mason jars and pallets. Their uses seem to be endless!

Have you embarked on any pallet or mason jar projects? If so, what did you turn them into?

  1. Isn't it great! I love the mason jar lights. I found myself recently eyeing up my husband's old oil canister in the garage the other day, but I don't think he'd appreciate me turning it into a vase! :) x

  4. I love a great DIY project but haven't created anything out of pallets or mason jars yet. Great inspirations! Love the headboard and the mason jar hanging light fixture.

  5. I love little projects like these. The most I ever did with a mason jar was use it as a drinking cup! But I've been finding that I'd like to make new uses for things more and more. Pinterest is a great site for this kind of stuff.

  10. Haven't tried my hand at either though we have a ton of pallets here at the design studio... I've turned shot glasses into little vases - does that count?

  11. I haven't, but my friend is in the process of making some outdoor chairs out of pallets. She also does some cool stuff with old light bulbs.

  12. They have seriously come up with the most creative ways to reuse. When I see some of the things they come up with, I am always thinking .... "why didn't I think of that"????

  13. I haven't done any of these things. I can barely even remove the label off of a mason jar when I end up with one.

  14. I'm always so impressed with the ingenuity of people! I couldn't imagine using pallets in my own home (I can't help but think of splinters lol) but I do love using mason jars as candle holders and vases for flowers - not very creative I realise! ;) xxx

  15. It really is a whole lot harder to come up with something creative when technology has come so far.

  16. These ideas are so inspirational but finding the time to make a palate table is probably beyond my skill level. The mason jars I can handle and I love the way they look with sand and candles or fresh cut flowers.
