Best seat in the house…

Wednesday 31 July 2013

The beach has been at the forefront of my mind since the weekend so I am just going with it and carry on the theme [again] this week. Can you tell how excited I am to be on the beach again? No? Well then allow me to show you with some beach chair loveliness. I thought it was just me who obsessed over pretty beach chairs (perhaps because I have never owned one… suffered through horrible plastic garden furniture for years) – but a young friend from work recently bought her first house and the very first thing she purchased for the house were 2 beach chairs she found at a boot sale. I was ecstatic for her, I mean who needs a sofa when you have beach chairs? Her dad? Not so much. Turns out that her mom did the exact same thing when they bought a house years before (they still live in their garage).

  1. Oh, these are lovely! Each one could be a post card! I loved all the "beach" chairs at St. Regent's park when we were there last month. So pretty with their green and white stripes.

We're headed to the beach this afternoon, and our chairs are beat down, partly rusted and OLD, but they serve us well!

  2. Those penguin book chairs are such fun and we agree, why burden yourself with heavy furniture when you can just pull out a deck chair. If they're good enough for the beach club, they're good enough for us!

  4. The Penguin book ones are just adorable. But my favorite have to be the iconic blue and white striped ones. I'd love a pair on a back terrace overlooking a garden. How much longer until you move? xo

    1. The penguin ones are my favourite. I've got 16 working days left and then another week until we leave (I could probably tell you how many hours I have left too but that would be sad).

  6. I like them all! Such a variety of styles and prints. Those Penguin books ones are so quirky and I would certainly be quite happy sitting on the beach in one of those pink ones too under the parasol.

  7. There are so many fun designs to choose from. I really like the Penguin Books one and I've seen some cool Pantone ones too. But my fav from your collection is the 2nd to last one, that's really cool. Maybe that could be your first purchase in Sydney, you'll need beach chairs there :) x

  8. I couldn't pick a favorite design, they all look great. Love the first image with the colorful chairs and umbrellas but if I imagined people sitting in all of the chairs it would be a pretty crowded beach ;)

  9. Your post makes me want to go to the beach right now. I really want to invest in some beautiful beach chairs. Great for the patio too. They're all pretty especially the second to the last image in different colors. The Penguin books chairs are my favorite.
