Ripped…

Friday, 28 September 2012

Although my office has a fairly relaxed dress code, I think I would be pushing my luck if I walked in with a pair of distressed jeans, but this does mean they make the perfect weekend uniform for me. I know holes and rips in jeans are nothing new but I do believe we have entered an age where you buy damaged clothes… on purpose! It seems nuts but I guess that’s just one of the crazy things we do in the name of fashion? As with most denim trends, I am a firm fan of this trend (although I think it’s possible for you to take it too far – try to stay hobo-chic rather than chic-hobo)! I am particularly drawn to contrasting outfits that pair smart items such as killer heels or simple flats, sharp blazers and tailored shirts with pale distressed denim.

Enjoy some denim inspiration to take us into the weekend…

  1. I agree - adding a pair of gorgeous heels or pretty flats makes all the difference. A great selection here. Thanks so much for deciding to follow my blog!

  4. I do love the ripped/distressed jeans look. I had a pair in high school that ripped organically (I fell!) and I thought they were so cool. Unfortunately I think I was ahead of the trend on them. If only I'd saved them! I don't think they'f fit now, though...ha!

  5. I have a pair of ripped jeans and it's actually my favourite pair of jeans. I've had it for years and I try not to wear them as much as I'd like, because I'm afraid not to wear them off. The secret to this style is to choose the right jeans and not to overdo it.

  8. They all look gorgeous. I think in my case I would look...what is the English saying...mutton dressed as lamb?

  9. I live in jeans, love them, just bought a pair of hot pink and red tie dyed jeans :) But I'm still looking for the perfect distressed pair, can't find any locally so will have to buy some online. Recommendations welcome. x

  11. I luv the rip jeans (2 or so rips not a gazillion) paired with elegant accessories. Though I can't bring myself to BUY them ... I use old jeans :)

  12. Ripped jeans is such a tricky piece of fashion! It's either a cool look or a not so appropriate look! lol
I am still yet to venture into this avenue but I do like to read more about what is the "right" kind of ripped.
