One of the first things I notice in a space is the lighting (it’s almost certainly the first thing I comment on when trawling through beautiful images on other blogs). I can be flexible and open-minded when it comes to furniture, wall finishes, flooring… even colour (to a point) but my outlook on lighting is so particular that if it is just not right, I more than likely won’t be captivated by the rest of the room.*Sigh* Of course I have the dreaded renter’s lighting curse i.e. it’s a total shambles in my own house, so I counteract this with a mild moderate obsession with table lamps. This doesn’t stop me from living vicariously through others though! Here are my current lighting flavours of the month…
On the light side…

I like the last ones, especially how they look attached to that suspended beam.
ReplyDeleteI love the three IKEA fisherman's pendants over the dining table - a great look!
ReplyDeleteThe pendants are wonderful but I could use the Monroe one in our shower room next to the mirror. It just that it has new and beautiful tiles on the walls and I don't have the heart to drill a hole into them even though I'm allowed to.
ReplyDeleteOh the Monroe Adjustable for me please. But I really love how IKEA always has a comparable item that one can fall back on.
ReplyDeleteAh! Thank you so much for sourcing that inspiration picture in the Gooseneck lamp shot!! I saw it a few months ago on Pinterest but never repinned it and lost it and was convinced I was making it up! So much inspiration in that bathroom, I can't even deal. My vote is obviously the first one :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love better light fixtures in my bathroom. Would definitely help with the makeup application! Love the look, also.
ReplyDeleteOF COURSE you just made me fall in love with the Monroe light, because it is $400. Figures. :)
ReplyDeleteLove these! I love lighting too - I can't get enough of it!
ReplyDeleteYup, love them all :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the barn lights!!! We just built a garage and we used those ...... just love 'em
ReplyDeleteHi Meghan,
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely! I really like the first one, especially in that bathroom.
i'm the same - i have a ton of lamps in my apartment due to the two (and poorly placed) overhead lights.
ReplyDeleteI love lights too, they're like the fashion version of shoes! x
ReplyDeleteAll lovely but the Monroe is right up my alley.
