I realised with some shock over the weekend that it has been nearly 4 years since I have been home to South Africa. I don’t get homesick nearly as often as I used to but surprisingly the warm weather made me long for the familiarity of home. I am particularly missing the wide open spaces, the accent and the languages and of course the food! I’m indulging myself today and taking you on a tour around a villa situated in the heart of the South African wine route. If that spectacular view of the Simonsberg mountains doesn’t reel you in, then how about the spectacular pool, the Cape Dutch thatched roof, the beamed ceilings, the shutters, the kitchen… need I go on?

ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Glad I found you through Bungalow at Home!
ReplyDeleteWe ended our trip to ZA with Stellenbosch and it was great. But I'm with Colleen- wish I had stayed in a place like this! This home is nothing short of magnificent. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a home! I LOVE that thatched roof - you never see anything like that in the U.S. I also really like all of the neutrals throughout - so calming and pretty year-round, I would think. Great post, I love seeing homes from other countries!
ReplyDeleteThis home is SUCH perfection in my book! I have never been to South Africa, but would love to go!!
ReplyDeleteLove the modern rustic style and the simplicity of this home that makes it all work and allows us to enjoy the views. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE this house, the setting - everything about it! I love S. African design anyway, as you probably know, but this one knocks it out of the park! I went wine tasting (perhaps in this area) many years ago and I remember it feeling very elegant and just lovely! Hope you get to head home sometime soon to visit. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm weak in the knees ...... such a magnificent home. I love the organic, natural feel it's got. Let's not forget the massive vaulted ceilings. I can just feel the breeze coming through. Time for you to go visit, missy :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my gracious! That is beyond beautiful! I just want to live there forever!
ReplyDeleteI just want to seat in the kitchen and be quiet....and stay there for a day..
ReplyDeleteWow, that's incredible! I love the Moroccan style outdoor seating, and the swimming pool! x
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be my dream house, complete with horses in the corral. Everything is comfortable AND stylish. How fun is that loft room with all of the beds - perfect for sleepovers and "camping" indoors
