Factory type windows…

Wednesday 8 February 2012

I was reading my copy of Domino over the weekend and one of the first chapters relates to ‘defining your style’. I realised that this is near impossible for me to do. One day I am drawn to rustic country cottages, and the next day I can be fawning over chic industrial lofts. I think I am just attracted to good design! Here is a classic example: a few months ago, I posted about some beautiful cottage style windows which I fell in love with, but today, I feel particularly drawn to these factory-type windows…

  1. I'm with you, that's why I need to own maybe five properties and use a different style for each ;-)

Now let me find that gold chest of mine which I seem to have lost.

  4. Those windows are fantastic. I'm partial to them when paired with brick walls and wood floors, but really I just love any time you have a ton of natural light.

  6. How I love bright spaces, the use of natural light is one of the key elements in interior design in my opinion. Love this window style. xo

  7. I love these windows and would love to live in a loft that has them. There is something about them that makes me weak in the knees - breath taking structural design has that affect on me!
    Much love,

  8. What I really like about them is how tall and expansive they tend to be- way to maximize light!

  10. I love these windows too! But I don't think they are my forever-home style. I just want to visit places that have them and drool.

  11. Beautiful! I love the large panes, and usually the glass in them is quite thin, love the way the light shines through.

  12. Those windows are beautiful. I think the black panes are what gets me. You see the lines and contrast against the white sky. As I've mentioned before my fave colors are black and white so that makes sense. But I'm with you when it comes from liking cottagy type windows to more factory right now.

  13. I know how you feel! The most frustrating thing about only having one house is that I can only decorate it in one style. How wonderful it must be for the design pros to be able to use different styles for every home they decorate!

  14. Beautiful windows, although I wouldn't fancy cleaning them! My style is definitely all about colour, pattern & texture. I'm drawn to Scandinavian design, but also drool over Bohemian/Moroccan style interiors. I think it's just about surrounding yourself with things that make you happy. xxx

  15. I'm obsessed with these windows as well! I didn't know what they were called but "factory" is a great way of describing them. :)

  16. Ah yes, factory windows are delightful! They have a simple design that works with every room, making them a versatile window type. Personally, I would like to have them in my living room or kitchen. Any room that is spacious or needs a lot of lighting would benefit from factory windows as well.

  17. It does seem you are naturally attracted to good designs, Meghan! I like how these windows prove that there is no need to go overboard with window designs as long as they serve their purpose, and give you their aesthetic purpose at the same time.
