My Fair London – The South Bank

Friday, 24 June 2011

It’s Friday people! I can finally breath a sigh of relief and start relaxing into the weekend! I am leaving work earlier today (to study for my driving theory test tomorrow morning), but regardless of the reason, it’s still put me in a holiday mood! Now down to the business of blogging. Have you ever walked along the South Bank in London? No? Then you are missing out! A couple of weekends back, we took a detour from our trip to Borough Market and strolled along the South Bank which was filled with street performers, musicians, book and food stalls and art installations. The best thing is that you never really know what you are going to find there – they have a beach theme going on at the moment! Oh the irony!

  1. I love walking along the Southbank, especially when the Christmas market is on and I can have some mulled wine and roasted chestnuts whilst enjoying the view. Not quite the right way of thinking for a weekend in June though... ;-) Good luck with the test tomorrow, I'm sure you'll be fine xo

  2. I love hearing about places I can visit around the world. I have only wondered around this area in winter, it looks very different in summer! Good luck for your test!

PS Thanks again for the Wed dance :) When I get under 85 I'm buying myself a fab bag I've been eyeing off (it's all about the rewards) and then the goal post gets moved to 80kg. I just focus on 5kg at a time so I don't lose the plot :(

  12. i love those pictures! it's so much fun exploring new places and coming across new installations. i also love how we both have a series exploring our new homes, you in london and me in sydney.

i'm dog sitting this weekend and this morning decided to walk him through Sydney University's campus... what we stumbled across were a few buildings straight from the English countryside which reminded me of the Downton Abby tv series. look out for pictures on my Weekends in Sydney post sometime next week. the English beauty of these buildings blew my mind.

ps: how about I visit London and you be my tour guide and then you visit Sydney and i'll be your tour guide? deal? lol :)
