Let the drink come to you…

Wednesday, 21 August 2013

The days of long twilights and barmy al fresco dinners are quickly waning. Even though I am heading straight into another summer, I am still sad to see the end of another English summer. I know I am guilty of complaining about the endless rain and cold but when the weather is good here, there is nothing quite like it. The Traveling Gin Company is the perfect example of lazy English summer days (and what drink could be more British than a gin and tonic)? Started by Ed Godden and Joe Lewis, The Travelling Gin Company consists of a pretty butcher’s bike, equipped with a laden picnic basket and a gin bottle attached to the handlebars. And call me a lush (again) but I just love the idea of the drink coming to you!

  1. I have no. words. Heavens. Head over heels in love with this idea. It helps that I love me some gin. I had my first gin and tonic in London when I was 14, but that's another story... and I've been hooked ever since. What a lovely, lovely idea and such beautiful presentation. I'm hooked. And jealous of London all over again. :)

  2. Gin is my absolute favorite. If I didn't have to get up to fetch myself a glass? Heaven! Delivered by cute English boys on a bike? Well, let's just say I'm doing a lot of bowing down and repeating, "I'm not worthy!" over and over ;)

  3. Oh how perfectly you described the way summer comes to an end .... very much here in Vancouver BC. We have had such a fantastic summer. I absolutely LOVE this idea ... I don't drink gin very often but this would make me for sure. These pictures are awesome.

  6. I LOVE that idea!!! What a fun job delivering G&T's to people, as long as you didn't drink too much of the product on the way. I've done a spot of bike riding after some gin & tonic's - hilarious :)
