Sacrificing space is almost a certainty when you live in the city. You adapt, you downsize and use the word ‘cosy’ to describe your new abode. It doesn’t necessarily become easier to live in the small confines but the convenience of city life often cancels out the little niggles. Saying that, I must confess that I could never live without outside space again (we did it for a year and a half and it was brutal, especially on a sunny day). I’m not talking about sprawling landscaped gardens or sun soaked patios (although that would be blissful), nope just good old plain fresh air. A small space outside of the restrictions of your four walls to enjoy a cup of coffee in the early morning sun or relax with a beer after a hard days work. Wouldn’t it be a huge bonus if that space had a killer view? Once again, I turn to the clever Swedes to show you how it’s done.

yes, outside space is great, but boy does it bring rents up!!! fabulous pics!!
ReplyDeletei have a big sliding glass door in my apartment and am so grateful to open it on nice days because yes, the apartment is definitely "cozy" haha. this apartment looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, that even though I grew up in the city, I've gotten very used to the wide open spaces of the country. It's easy to enjoy not having any neighbours in sight but the cows!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an apartment - and what a view!! I dream of a house looking out over a wild and rocky beach with the waves crashing over the sand.....one day!
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a view! And the turquoise shades used to decorate which pick up the colour of the water. The effect is so calming. And the kitchen with its brick wall in the eating area and that lovely work space...Beautiful! I couldn't live without a balcony or a little patio either. :)
ReplyDeleteGosh that is so pretty!!! The space feels so airy and bright, even with it being small! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI so agree! Having a little outdoor escape is both blissful and crucial. I hope to have a view of water one day.
ReplyDeleteA little balcony to step out onto every now and then is a sweet little luxury in urban living.
ReplyDeleteThese are perfect little balconies. As you say, all you really need is a place to get some fresh air, and these do the trick beautifully. And I just love how Swedish homes are always so bright and airy that it almost feels like you are outside even indoors!
ReplyDeleteI probably need to move here STAT. What a quaint but gorgeous little abode!
ReplyDeleteSuch a personal flat and not to mention the great view!
ReplyDeleteHere's to higher rent and more outdoor space and/or view ;-)
Wonderful view. I wish I had such a great view from my flat. Still, I like the country side a lot.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think I'd struggle too living without an outside space - it certainly wouldn't work for us at the moment with 3 kids and 3 pets. I've often marvelled over the Scandinavian balconies - no matter how small, they always seem to look stylish and inviting. xxx
ReplyDeleteWowzers, that view is incredibly amazing! So quaint and peaceful I imagine. Thanks for sharing such beautiful images :) Mandy
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...so rustic, peaceful and beautiful...a great reminder to vacation in places that give you a chance to breathe! xx
ReplyDeleteI could live small and downsize my belongings to a minimum but I could not compromise on outdoor space. Even if it's a tiny balcony I could squeeze only two chairs on. Outdoor space was always the deciding factor when renting an apartment and also when we bought the house.
