I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it!

Wednesday 7 September 2011

It’s finally happening! We are going to NEW YORK! The tickets are booked, the visas are ready and the bags would be packed but we are only going in October so I will just settle for getting them down from the loft and looking at them! It will be our first time in America so I need some ‘insider information’. Although we would like to visit the major touristy sites, we also like to take it easy and walk around neighbourhoods etc. So this is where you fellow bloggers come in – if you live/have visited New York I want to know it all: places to eat, places to shop, places to visit, food we have to try etc. I have made a little list of the things we don’t want to miss – am I missing anything here or is there anything I should leave out?

  1. I am jealous! I have not been back home in waaaay to long. One of my favorite restaurants is Pure Food and Wine (http://www.oneluckyduck.com/purefoodandwine/). You do need to book a table in advance. It is a raw food restaurant and I promise you will be AMAZED at all the tastes! That is one of my favorite NYC tips.

  5. One of my favorite places in the entire world but haven't been in a couple of years. I'm sure the gals from in and around the city can recommend the very latest stops. One must for me is the flea markets on 6th & 26th early Saturday and Sunday mornings.Have fun.

  7. Have a great time! How exciting! A walk over the Brooklyn bridge is a must! Looks like you have great things planned! :) I lived in Brooklyn for a summer in the neighborhood of "Brooklyn Heights." It's a quaint, beautiful neighborhood! There is great shopping and sweet little restaurants there. You can walk to the bridge from there. Check it out if you have time! :) Have a blast!

  15. If you like dim sum, you should visit Chinatown. Most of the dim sum restaurants we went to offered great food. If you love browsing through furniture stores, don't forget to stop by Jonathan Adler (home decor store)and ABC Carpet & Home!

You have a wonderful list, by the way!
