Kiwi Spirit!

It was the start of the Rugby World Cup this weekend and since we take rugby very seriously in our house, you can bet that we were up at 7am bleary eyed and groggy but cheering on our teams nonetheless (apologies to my neighbours, we will try and keep it down next weekend). I have really enjoyed watching the spirit and culture of the New Zealand people - what a wonderful event to host, especially after the earthquakes that devastated the country earlier this year. Keeping with the Kiwi spirit, I thought I would post about a beautiful house designed by Aukland based Herbst Architects. Apparently the site proposed a particular challenge as 90% of it was covered in mature pohutukawa trees. It is now nestled amongst the dense trees and completely looks like it belongs there!

  3. Oh I love this house. Natural and homey yet very very modern. Love this look (and love rugby). Of course we don't get rugby on the tv here in the states. :(

  4. Hi lovely,

I love the lines of this house. I'm not sure I'd like to live there - it'[s very glassy, isn't it?! But it's LOVELY to drool over!

And, guess what, I grew up about ten minutes away from the Royal Pavilion in Brighton...but I've only ever visited once!

  7. that is a gorgeous house that fits in perfectly with its surroundings!

when you come and visit bondi you should make the short jump to NZ. it's cheaper flying to NZ then it is flying across australia. i've been to both islands. my husband and i qualify for permanent residency there. honestly if there were banking jobs there for him we'd be living in nz instead of australia.
