My Fair London – Soho and Chinatown

Friday 29 July 2011

I’m sure every city has a slightly risqué/seedy area that’s quite fun to visit but probably wouldn’t be a riot to live in? Well Soho and Chinatown fits this category for London. Jordan used to work in Soho (no, not at Prowler) so on Sunday morning I requested a guided tour of the area - probably not the best destination for a Sunday morning but I wanted to beat the weekend shopping crowds. It took some convincing for him to want to go there as it’s a little grungy (tip: don’t wear nice shoes after a Saturday night) and smelly but I am fascinated by it. The mixture of swanky office buildings with sex shops, upmarket restaurants and 19th century buildings creates a really fun and vibrant area.  And then just when you think it can’t get any weirder, you find yourself slap bang right in the middle of Chinatown!

  11. These pics make me want to go! I had no idea they were showing Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in London too. I've been wanting to see it for quite some time. I love that shoe...way better than the display we have in NY.
