Succulents for the Big Day

Wednesday, 8 October 2014

Even though our house will probably always be a work in progress, we are starting to work on the finishing flourishes. It’s amazing what a difference a few of your favourite pictures on the wall makes (even though I winced when Jordan started brandishing that famous dollar store hammer on our brand new white walls). New walls called for new pictures - even though our wedding album sits in full view, I seldom open it - it was great to have an excuse to spend the afternoon reliving that day. Our day was perfect but I do wish that I had a little bouquet. At the time, I deemed it overly fussy and unnecessary but it is definitely the missing piece in our photos. Maybe one day we’ll have it over and I can right this tiny little wrong but in the meantime, I’ll live vicariously through the beautiful brides I come across every day. I’m particularly fond of the bouquets of succulents that I have seen popping up all over the internet. How about you? Which flowers did you have/would you have in your wedding bouquet?

Mexican Wedding Fever

Thursday, 15 August 2013

It’s easy to tell when wedding season is in full swing here in London: shelves are stocked with impractical heels, every second lady is wearing a giant sparkler on her left hand and those who usually read the Evening Standard on their tube ridge home, are now engrossed in Wedding Weekly. I know no less than 4 people who are all getting married in the next coming weeks. Now I wouldn’t exactly call me a romantic (faaaaar from it) but even I have been caught up in wedding fever this year. Even more so when I came across this beautiful Mexican wedding over the weekend. Groom, Sean and Bride, Lauren (along with their close family and friends) chose the picturesque and quaint town of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico to tie the knot. Apart from one of the most gorgeous wedding dresses I have ever seen and a jaw-dropping backdrop, I adored the fact that it looked like it turned into an epic party

A wedding in Savannah

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

As an avid traveller, I am constantly adding new dream destinations to my travel bucket list. Lots of places go on the list but nothing ever, ever comes off. A destination that has long since been on my list is Savannah, Georgia. The architecture, the large swooping trees, the Spanish moss and the general old town feel of it is just begging to be explored… by me! I’ve always thought it would make the perfect backdrop for a wedding and then just this weekend, I found a beautiful wedding that took place against this very scenery. Here’s a little snapshot of Megan and David’s Blue and White Wedding in Savannah. (Personally, I don’t think it gets more romantic than this).

In full bloom

Thursday, 2 May 2013

I was still in gardening mode when I put together today’s post. So it’s no surprise that I went a little nutty for this wedding I am about to show you. I know most of us are suckers for a beautiful wedding but after a while, they do tend to look somewhat similar. This is certainly not the case for Ryan and Michelle’s special day. It’s got quirk, colour and a whole lot of whimsy. The bridesmaid’s dresses immediately caught my eye, unconventional yes, but absolutely stunning! All in all, it’s a wedding that reminded me so much of spring that I couldn’t NOT post it, right?

Also, if you think they make a beautiful couple here, check out their engagement photos.
