And so another week draws to an end. I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t exhausted – I’ve partied hard, ate too much and spent too much already but despite the craziness, I adore this time of year. And as I sit here with my twinkling lights, presents under the tree, my feet firmly up on the table and The Nutcracker playing in the background, I realise that this is the first time I have stopped to take it all in. I intend to do a bit more of this over the coming week so I am going to sign off now until the New Year. Thank you so much to those of you who continue to stop by my blog and read my ramblings. Stick around for next year because I have some wonderful things on the horizon and I would love to share them with you.

Have a wonderful Christmas all and a very happy New Year!

All is calm, all is bright…

Thursday, 13 December 2012

This isn’t the post I had planned for today but after reading about general holiday chaos on blogs around the world (and feeling a little overwhelmed by all the Christmas parties myself), I thought a little calm was in order. So sit down, put your feet up for five minutes, take a nice deep cleansing breath and scroll through the serenity that is this beautiful [and suitably festive] room.

Feel better? I certainly do!

Kapow! Christmas is here!

Thursday, 1 December 2011

I’ve been waiting all month to do this! Let the countdown to Christmas begin! Earlier in the week, I posted a little something festive thinking I had practiced immense self-restraint by waiting until almost the end of November before spreading my Christmas hysteria. Well no more restraint! Every day until Christmas I will be posting a little something to keep the Christmas spirit going. Today’s inspiration is colour!

Tis Almost the Season…

Tuesday, 29 November 2011

I’ve been holding off on posting anything festive because given half the chance, I would post something Christmassy every day of the year! I have settled for something subtle to get us into the festive spirit. How about a little dose of red?Since we live far away from home and family, we have had to start our own Christmas traditions. One of my favourites is the ‘putting up the tree extravaganza’. Cheesy Christmas music blares, wine flows, stockings are hung, mince pies bake in the oven and we spend most of the evening trying to untangle ourselves from the twinkle lights and baubles. We are not precious about co-ordination and sophistication when it comes to Christmas decorating. More is less is our motto because let’s face it, it is soooo much more fun that way!
