Somewhere between being squished in between a stranger’s sweaty armpit, sliding on a pile of vomit and having a random crazy mutter to himself on my packed train home last night, I decided that I needed a looooooonnnggg holiday. Somewhere where there are no sirens, no crowds, no smog and most importantly, no random crazies. Imagine my surprise when I got home to find Tripadvisor (aka my life advisor) had published their ‘10 most peaceful places on earth list’. A sign? I think so! Would you add any destination to this list?

These places are so heavenly. I kept gasping as I scrolled down.

I Have been to the south Island New Zealand (& North) it was gorgeous and so worth a visit. Was there in July and we went skiing and travelled in a camper van - so much fun!!!
ReplyDeletehow dreamy!! what incredible holiday places! (except from france because it does not sound very exotic for me, despite it does be beautiful ;) )
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful You cannot choose. You have to go to them all!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I'd pick destination #5, followed closely by #6. Nothing on the side of a mountain though. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a great list! I am sure there are some more beach locations that should be added-maybe the Maldives?! Never been, but I am sure they are pretty peaceful!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I would happily travel to any of these places.
ReplyDeleteJust today we posted pictures of the beaches in the Hamptons - not so quiet in the heart of the summer, but so beautiful and tranquil in the weeks leading up to Memorial Day! That's our "peaceful place."
Thanks for visiting us!

The Loire Valley...just what I could do with right now. Or I'd go back to the Sahara desert - the most peaceful place I've been to so far. xo
ReplyDeletePS: How's the weather on your side of the river? ;-D
Love the images! I adore tripadvisor as well. My fave is the Seychelles.
ReplyDeleteThe Loire Valley is my favorite.... maybe is just the beautiful picture but i would love to travel to that exact spot : )
ReplyDeleteThey all look amazing. But, Bora Bora... (swoon and sigh)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so divine. I've been to a few of these places, but the one place I really really want to visit is French Polynesia. Too bad it's so darn expensive... sigh.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I'd like to jet off to number 6 right now : )
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh. I need each and every one of these in my life. Stat. And what a horrible ride home, my dear! No wonder you were looking for a getaway!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously where's Tasmania?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous list.
I knew I loved your blog but now I love it even more. I laughed when you said Trip Advisor was your life advisor - I can relate! I am heading to Tuscany on Saturday - I think that sitting there on a warm evening, enjoying a great glass of wine, overlooking the rolling Tuscan landscape, will be pretty peaceful - at least after my kids are asleep! Thanks for such a nice post!
ReplyDeleteThese places are beautiful. I would add Vieques, Puerto Rico to the list. It's off the coast of the main island and rarely visited, which makes for peaceful beaches (if you know where to go). So gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThese all look amazing. I've been to Bora Bora and it's beautiful.
