On Sunday afternoon (after a bout of serious cabin fever), we hopped in the car and found an oasis of calm and green in the middle of the city. Wide open spaces as far as the eye can see, cyclists, horse riders, hikers and runners… all the things that make you feel guilty (yet smug) for mooching around with an ice-cream and enjoying the last of the summer days. Maybe next time we’ll pack our running shoes!

Seeing this post made me feel all nostalgic as I grew up right next to Richmond Park - many years of roller-booting down hills and then eventually jogging around the edge, and then a few weeks ago i watched the men's olympic cycling go through too! It's beautiful there. Did you go to Isabella Plantation? If not, next time.... :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Lucky you Niki! No, we didn't have time to see the other side - truth be told, parking was fairly savage and we were fretting about being parked in but we have another trip planned in autumn (sans car) so I will be sure to check it out... and take more photos!
ReplyDeleteWow, how lovely! Look at all of that beautiful lush green! Thanks for sharing with us. :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite things about city living is that lvoely feeling so being able to escape the hustle and bustle in an urban park. Your snaps of Richmond Park are fab - I also love Regents Park!
ReplyDeletecan you believe that in 6 years of living in London I've never made it there.... on the up-side, I'm the proud owner of a brand new pair of running shoes. not that I'm going to make it back to London any time soon.... xxx
ReplyDeleteI never realised it's so big!! Would love to visit one day :-)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous...love all of the trees!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful, I'd love to go for a ride through that scenery
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Looks absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! It's nice that you can go from the hustle and bustle of a big city, to somewhere as peaceful as this. My advice is go for a run first thing in the morning, then you don't feel guilty eating ice cream later in the day, in fact, you feel entitled to it! :) x
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking! Seriously you visit the most amazing places in the world :) Just a wee bit jealous ;)
