Co-Working

In my fairly unreasonable mood last week, whilst vacuuming the study, I realised that I hardly ever go in there. The desk now houses Jordan’s gaming PC and much to my annoyance, he has now hooked up the tv (that I wanted for our bedroom) to his PC so he has some whole weird geeky gaming zone in there. On the rare occasion that I do work in there, I usually end up perched on the uncomfortable corner of the desk, feeling put out. So feeling unnecessarily chagrined by the whole stupid situation, I ranted and ranted while Jordan bewilderedly scrambled to organise a better space on our (aka HIS) desk. Despite his efforts (of moving my chair to another spot on the table), I am now refusing to sit in there until it’s sorted out. First things first, we need a much narrower but longer desk in an already cramped room. It’s going to take some creative thinking but I am determined to make it work. I’ve been scouring the net for some shared office space inspiration. Do you share an office space with your partner? Is it happy camping?

  1. Those are such a great inspiration! I haven't have a partner yet, so... But I guess I'll have my own office space. It just nice for me to sit and think all alone when it comes to work :D

  2. Oh, I love all these offices! I work at home and my husband refuses to, so. ;) That's how that works out. Our computer is in our family room/kitchen so all eyes can be on it (important with kids in the house), and the truth is, there are now also two laptops cluttering our kitchen island as well. My dream? A built-in space in the kitchen (that the sun doesn't hit for an annoying hour and a half a day) and a tucked away spot for the printer too. Grumble.

  3. Oh these are great examples of workspaces for people. I can't help but laugh with you description of your situation with Jordan. I think many of us can relate. I can't wait to see what you come up with, in the mean time, hold your ground.

  4. Gah, all of these coworking spaces are blowing my mind. I luckily don't have to share any space at all (or I might go crazy). I get distracted easily - with mess, noise, lights, shiny objects... etc.

  5. oooo, i love all of these. ugh, i don't even have an office space :( it's shared by my living room and everyone in it. actually in the summer i take over the patio and it's pretty awesome - no sharing necessary.

  6. I used to share an office space with my partner, and it always worked out well for us. we had quite a bit of space and one huge desk tho. I love your finds here. I'm sure you guys work something out :)

  7. Lovely spaces. We ended up using our dining table as an office desk, since we never really use it during ordinary days. We're slobs and eat in the bedroom watching something everyday. :)
