Mouth dropping, swoon evoking perfection

It is as it says in the title. I was doing my usual internet snooping, killing a few hours clicking on one link, being taken to another etc until WHAM, I was stopped dead in my tracks by this show stopper. Take a little peak around the beautiful Waiheke Island (NZ) abode of Kate and Barry Hastings. They have thought of everything – little cozy reading nooks, shutters on the verandah (so you can sleep out there on steamy nights), flowing living spaces and oodles of warmth and character. Every single room has something that I desperately covet. Go on, go see for yourself!

  1. Oh yes. So much to swoon over in this house. I've been looking at houses a lot lately (guess I should pay more attention to my Pinterest page!), and one thing that keeps popping out at me are those shiplap walls. I. WANT. I just love them. There's something about them that speaks simplicity and casual comfort. Coupled with those wide-planked, dark wood floors? I'm in heaven. :)

  6. Wow, agreed. The views inside and outside are gorgeous. I can stay at it all day (but I have to go work - no daydreaming today for me).

  7. I remember a trip to Waiheke Island 7 years ago and apart from admiring the swoon worthy and heavenly landscape, we were ogling the beautiful houses over there during a leisurely hike. We have dreamed of migrating to NZ after that trip but ended up getting stuck in the sandpit for another 7 years. :)
