Skansen part un

I was going through some of my holiday photos over the weekend (desperately.in.need.of.one) and found some pictures of our trip to Stockholm which I forgot to post about. Which is probably just as well because I think I did nearly 5 posts on our trip – testament to what a blog-worthy and picturesque city it truly is. But I think we might be ready for another taste of it, non? Our visit to one of the world’s first open air museum, Skansen, was definitely the highlight of our trip.  Founded in 1891 it was initially used to show the way of life in the different parts of Sweden before the industrial era. It’s effectively like visiting a quaint Swedish town, with traditional houses and farmsteads, dotted with workers dressed in period costume. The whole experience was totally surreal and enchanting. It is a MUST if you visit that part of the world.

More pics to come!

  7. Well aren't you two just the cutest! And I love that tree-arched pathway, it's something out of a fairytale. If your previous posts about Stockholm weren't enough to convince me, this certainly pushed me over the edge! In a good way ;)
