On your feet…

I’m finishing off Swedish week with another thing that the Swedes do well: Style! I expected well-dressed tall blonde goddesses so I tried my best to blend in with the uber-stylish without feeling like I was wearing a bin bag (I reckon I was at least 70% successful)! I made a few observations, first of which is that the Swedes are not afraid of a bit of experimentation, particularly with glasses, also they love to wear black (thankfully that was mostly what I packed, hence the 70% success rate) but the observation I found most surprising is that Swedish women tend to favour grunge – think an abundance of fitted black leather, studs and my personal favourite, good old faithful Doc Martens.

I know they aren’t for everyone but surely you can’t deny that they get serious points for being so badass…

  1. The Swedes do seem to have a very instinctive understanding of design and aesthetics and it really shows in how they dress. Really like most of the pics, but the last one somehow doesn't work for me... ;-) Have a great weekend xo

  3. I really like the first outfit and the outfit of the girl with the red scarf. I still own my first pair of Doc Martens, bought in London about 20 years (yup, I'm old) ago, although I only wear them when I go horseback riding now as they do not look their best anymore.

    Have a great weekend Meghan!

  4. I wore Docs for years and still love them but now as late 40's woman wearing them, I feel a little self conscious:( My 17 year old daughter now wears them!

  6. So interesting about the Doc Marten thing--it's so not what's happening here, but it looks great on these long legged beauties!

  7. I don't think I can get away with Doc Marten at my age :) but I have to say, the Swedes have great style. Love them all. The woman in a black hat (8th picture) is my favorite.

  9. I wore them during the grunge days. There are so many takes on combat boots I think everyone can find a style that suits them. I had two pairs and loved both. One pair of black boots and then a pair of Doc Martin Mary Janes. I kept my Mary Janes .... Don't know why but I just love them. Perhaps I'll give them another go. Although I should have kept my boots too!!!!!

  13. These girls all look amazing. It's been a while since I wore a pair of Doc Martens, but I do like a chunky biker boot with the right outfit. x
