When it comes to interiors, I favour character and charm over sophistication and class, but every now and then, I find a home that has me rethinking these principles. I start visualising my simple Ikea furniture, replaced by expensive tailored pieces, lush carpets and valuable art. I recently came across Suzanne Kasler’s home on Architectural Digest and started visualising myself sauntering around this space. The exterior view is my favourite – I can practically hear the trumpets just looking at it!

ReplyDeleteIt is a very pretty, grown-up house, isn't it? Yup, can't quite imagine Billy bookcases in that home. I don't think I have it in me to sit so properly in a home like that ; )
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous home but a little too grown up and sophisticated for me personally. But I could definitely see myself in the beautiful garden. Would love to hang out by the outdoor fireplace on a chilly night...

ReplyDeleteI struggle with this same issue, but only occassionally...like now, with this house. Mostly, as I've matured, I realize what I truly enjoy is casual comfort. The cozier the better. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a beautifully designed home when I see one. :-)
