The wonderful world of backsplashes!

Backsplashes might not get everyone excited but sad or not, they get me excited! I’ve had to scour the web for some backsplashes and was a little bewildered by the sheer number of options! With my eyes squaring and my back aching, I think I lost countless hours browsing through metallic/mirror finishes, patterned tin, glossy enamelled tiles, bead board – you name it, and I have seen it. My initial favourite was the patterned tin but from the photos I found, it tends to make the kitchen a little dark (my next favourite has got to be the subway tile). Which option would you/have you chosen for your kitchen?

  2. I completely agree, Demie! The brick effect is very clever and fits in well with a rustic style country kitchen :-)

  8. These are so dang pretty! I can't wait to have a beautiful backsplash!
btw I don't think I told you, but your comment about hanging your gallery wall had me laughing!! That's why I've been reluctant to do it since we're not in a house yet that we're going to be in for a long time- I can totally see my hubby and I being the same way while we hung it! And if they all fell down in the night...oh my gosh! LOL that was too funny!! I'm glad it all worked out though and that you have your beautiful gallery wall! I just need to suck it up and do it too!

  10. Subway tiles are classic- I don't think you can go wrong with that. I also love the metallic/mirrored subway tile you show here (16?)- sexy!

  11. My favorite is always the subway tiles...me and pretty much half the known world (c: But I think that the tin isn't as dark as you are thinking, maybe in pictures, but I think in person, the shine would balance it out...but seriously, what do I know??? The answer: absolutely nothing (c;

  12. They obviously do because that is quite a dose ;-)

I like the subway tiles. I never was a fan but then I fell flat for the white ones a few years ago.

  14. Wow, that really is some choice...I love the silver (?) rectangular tiles? Different and elegant... Black is also great if it wasn't for the cleaning part - nightmare ;-) Thanks for the lovely welcome back xo

  15. Beautiful selection of backsplashes. I particularity like the last one, is beautiful clean and the brick wall is just lovely! By the way to answer your question on your last comment to my blog.

The yellow house in the second picture and the street with all the flags flying above against the blue sky. It was taken in Porto Seguro - Bahia Brazil during my trip last year there.

You will often see pictures from that Island on my blog, is one of my favorite place to visit! You should check out one day. ((-:

Have a beautiful week Meghan! =(^.^)=

  21. Backsplash is always one of the things I check out when I am in someone's kitchen because I have a backsplash obsession too! Great images, by the way. My favorite is #9, it has always been my favorite kitchen!

  22. Hello there,

I love the backsplashes you included in this post - so pretty!

I'd love to design a gazillion kitchens to incorporate them all. Haha =]

    Have a good weekend ahead!

  23. I'm just looking through your site and found these lovely backsplashes. I agree, there are so many great options out there it is hard to choose. My go-to is the classic white subway tile, as it is bright and goes with any style. However, some of the patterned ones here, or those sky-blue subway tiles, are very tempting!

Funny, this is a popular topic, as two posts that I've done on backsplashes are also two of my most popular.

    Loving your site!
