I’ve been my own worst enemy when it comes to stress lately and when my hands have not been occupied, I have let the “what ifs” scare the daylights out of me. So on a whim in John Lewis last week, I picked up a pair of knitting needles and wool and began knitting for the first time in almost 15 years . It was wonderful. I went to bed that night after knitting for 3 hours and fell right to sleep (that NEVER happens to me). I seem to have been bitten by the crafty bug! My next project will be something dip dyed. Etsy goodies have been my inspiration…
ombre dip dyed flour sacks; dip dyed shopper; dip dyed ipad mini case; dip dyed sky pillow; dip dyed bowl; dip dyed cuff; dip dyed shirt;
Good on you! I have never knitted, it's becoming quite hip to knit these days, I know a few teenage girls who are taking it up. I love the dip dyed look, especially in these gorgeous inky tones. x
ReplyDeleteDippy made me giggle. I'm impressed that you can knit! I've tried a few times but I can't seem to get the hang of it. Whatever it takes to work off some stress! I promise it will all die down soon, and you'll be living it up in Australia soon enough with all this stress as only a distant memory! xo
ReplyDeleteKnitting is something my grandmother, sister and I have all gotten into at some point of our lives. We used to knit away on long road trips. Thinking back on it, knitting with those long needles in a moving car was probably not the best idea but it was definitely fun
ReplyDeleteYah for knitting!! I recently just started to do a knitting project and it's not the greatest knitting job but love what I made so far.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see your knitting project progress. I've never tried knitting before but I once got hooked in crocheting. Wishing you a stress free weekend XX
ReplyDeleteLove all of these and blue seems to be the perfect colour dor dip dying!

I'm so glad you're finding ways to occupy the time so the stress doesn't catch up to you! That pillow is adorable, and I love the message on the shopper. Following your extremely cute blog now. (:
ReplyDeleteMay the Force be with you.

dip dyeing is on my to-do list. i have tried it in the past and it's a lot harder than it looks to get the coloring/ombre effect just right. and maybe that's why i fall asleep in about 5 seconds every night, because i craft everyday!
ReplyDeleteSwoon dip dye! I wish I had the guts to dip dye these white curtains I plan to use as doors for one of our closets. Maybe I should give it a try?
