I realise that I am a little late to the party but if I am honest, I wasn’t even sure where I stood with the whole ‘acrylic furniture: cheap or chic debate’. After months of deliberation and seeing it used in a few of my favourite rooms, I am now a firm fan. I know this is nothing new and you have probably seen some of these oldies but goodies but I couldn’t resist putting this post together.
Need I ask whether you are a fan or not?
I don't think I would use acrylic furniture in my own home, but those chairs in the bottom photos in the first collage are very eye-catching.
ReplyDeletei actually like an acrylic chair thrown here or there. but for a whole table is a bit much (and they don't look that comfortable!)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Colleen. It's cute, if done in small amounts. I like the coffee table a lot though.
ReplyDeleteI do love mixing elements in a room and these would lend themselves to creating such an environment. The ghost chairs are fabulous and that leaning bookshelf is quite amazing.
ReplyDeleteOooh - I am a huge fan! I love the chairs used around a dining table or a beautiful acrylic coffee table. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat debate! Here and there yes. For instance I love the side table, it is really pretty and looks very uncluttered. A whole set of ghost chairs is a little over kill though.
ReplyDeleteAcrylic chairs are so chic, but they look really uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time!
ReplyDeleteNice post!
ReplyDeleteHere is a trend I'm in lately. I remember seeing this trend for the first time and I did not like it.
But, actually acrylic looks clean and uncluttered.
I think it's great. I just posted a gorgeous photo featuring a Lucite hall table on my facebook page. I like mixing elements, so a ghost chair with a vintage wooden desk is a perfect look for me. x
ReplyDeleteI have been a fan of acrylic for the longest time even before I found out what blogging is! LOL. I have a few acrylic pieces in my home and plan to add more! They are great for small spaces because they are visually light!

My boyfriend studied design and made me go to chair design exhibitions and I really liked all of the acrylic ones.
