If you asked me what my dream home would entail, you would almost certainly hear the following words: cottage, cosy, natural timber, fireplace, more windows than walls, soft colours, and most importantly – sea-view. This rural cottage in Maine encompasses all of those things and more! Renovated by architect Sheila Narusawa (for clients Fiona and Tony Hooper), this former dilapidated General Store sits so close to the coast that during high tide, the water actually laps at the porch (I can’t decide whether this is scary or really intriguing)! I’ve swooned over the kitchen a few times on Pinterest but I had never seen the whole package! I can honestly say, hands down, that this is one of my favourite finds!
It gets better… you can rent it here!

i love all the white. and the view from that bedroom! nice.
ReplyDeleteI definitely wouldn't mind spending a few days there to recharge the batteries.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think that high tide intrigues me ;-)
I would like to spend a weekend there. I think the hide tide partly intrigues me and partly scares me. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I dream of beach houses too. I would live there in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteSo serene! Although the water at the porch would make me nervous!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely. Especially the paneling in the kitchen...oh and the image with the day bed..wish I was there now.
ReplyDeleteWow! this really is divine. I'm not sure about the water lapping at the porch though-could be a little worrying ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of the wood stove in the sitting room and that claw foot tub is divine! I think I could get over the waves lapping at my porch as long as the front door was water tight.

This is amazing! Totally my dream home. All I want is to live in a seaside cottage in a sleepy New England town.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning cottage! I could live there tomorrow! Thank you so much for sharing....I may just have to share it on! :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhh so lovely and peaceful but that view. That view is just staggeringly gorgeous. Sigh. My dream house is always on the water as well. A little difficult in Manchester, however. Booo. xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous, alright! I love the taps and basin in the bathroom, and that view. Isn't it great when you find the rest of the house after falling in love with a single room?! xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cottage overlooking the water? Can't get any better than this! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely house! I wouldn't mind waking up in that bed and enjoying the view in the morning.
