The red skinnies…

I am no stranger to the colourful skinny trend (I have greys, cobalt blues and coral), but last week I upped the ante and bought these bad boys… Paired with a tailored black shirt and riding boots I was ready to go to work. Well little did I realise the stir they would cause! From the minute I walked in the door I was compared to everything from a fire extinguisher to a post box, and my personal favourite: severe sunburn! I hardly consider myself fashion forward (and I should probably point out that I work in a typical English traditionalist office where most people wear tweed capes and flat caps… no, really they do), but are bright skinnies really that progressive? Despite the mixed reaction, I still love them and will continue to wear them until I am actually mistaken for a post box.

    I have a pair of bright pink jeans and a pair of wine coloured jeans and I would consider red if I wasn't trying to stop expanding my wardrobe.

    I never wear skinny jeans but I love that colour. The one mistaking you for a post box would probably be an idiot so just keep on being happy with your purchase ;-)

    I have green colored skinnies on my list. But a very specif tone and I haven't been able to find them yet (almost like the green in the bag above).. Coral sounds cute too...Happy weekend!

    Perhaps they are secretly wishing they could do the same (be a trend setter rather than a follower)- don't be surprised if they sport red skinnies outside of the workplace - secretly, of course! I love these. I have worn red pants but not to work - traditional workplace, days of suits.

    Keep wearing them! I think they are so fun and want to get a pair for myself soon. I have orange skinnies and am called a pumpkin every time I wear them so don't feel bad. :) Have a great weekend. xx

    I love this look but just don't think I should draw that much attention to my thighs, sadly. :( But if I had the figure for it I'd love to wear these! Tweed capes, seriously? That's so Sherlock Holmes! They are learning about fashion from you. :)

    Yaaaay! Definitely want me a pair of these red bad boys. LOVE THEM! My faovurite look is the one teamed with green bag and brown shirt. Got to go bold!

    Tweed capes and flat caps? That's kind of awesome in its own way, but probably only because it sounds so quintessentially British. Also, I now picture you working with various versions of the Dr. from Dr. Who. Or perhaps an office full of Sherlock Holmes.

    I have a pair of red skinnies which I love but my fiance hates. He said I looked like a fire truck. Maybe it's a guy thing, though I like to think he secretly loves them.

    People can be weird in offices... I think they're fantastic and already have one coral and one bright green pair for Spring.

    I can't believe you got such a reaction over red pants - they must be a pretty conservative bunch at your work. I think they're awesome, I'm thinking of getting a pair in green. Wear them with pride :) xxx

    Tweed capes and flat caps? Do you work in Victorian times? ;) I think the red skinnies are probably far too fantastic for them to comprehend. Wear them with pride, they sound rather wonderful! xxx
