Surprise me if you can!

It’s round about this time of year that I start pining for the sun and short sleeved shirts. Because I am a sucker for punishment, I spent the whole of yesterday evening going through photos of me in hot, sunny destinations! I came across some pics of us in the Caribbean which got me thinking about one of the only times in my life I was surprised…

Since I am bossy, strong willed and a woman, I tend to make the decisions around the house, particularly where we go on holiday. My guy is laid back and tends to go with the flow so this arrangement works well (mostly). But for my birthday a few years ago, he decided to take control and surprise me with an exotic holiday. For the first time in my life, I had no idea where we were going, what to pack, or how much it cost. It felt amazing to relinquish the control and let someone else worry about the logistics for once. We ended up having one of the best holidays of my life! Do you like surprises? What is the best surprise you ever had?

  1. That sounds like an amazing suprise! I like suprises that are fun from time to time - I feel so loved and thought for. However, suprises at work that are not very exciting - not really a fan of those!
    Much love,

  2. That is a great guy! Looks like you had a wonderful time. I am always the one planning too, but isn't it nice to have someone else do all this for you (once in awhile) (-:

  4. Meghan, you're spoiling my Christmassy mood with these beautiful photos. (A few shy snowflakes have made their appearance today!) I LOVE surprises. It can be a bouquet of flowers when I least expect it, a unique, hand-made piece of jewelry like the ones I've received as an early Christmas present, or a weekend city-break somewhere in Europe. :)
