We came to New York armed with jackets, hats and scarves only to be met with blinding sunshine and suffocating humidity (it was blissful)! There was only one solution for it, hit the parks… and there are many! We spent a good 2 days cycling, strolling and boating around Central Park (a.k.a the most beautiful park I have ever been to). My top tip: if like me you haven’t been on a bike in a few years, practice a little bit before you go, the serious lycra-clad cyclists and marathon-like runners can be intimidating when you are wobbling along! I think our favourite park discovery was the deserted Teardrop Park, complete with the steepest slide I have ever been on! You can’t help but squeal with delight on the way down. Also be sure to check out the Highline - we grabbed some lobster rolls from Chelsea Market and strolled along the suspended park when the sun was just setting over the buildings.
my favorite places to visit in cities are parks and botanical gardens~
