10 Wild Places to go for a Swim!

There is just something about Thursday that makes me relax, the worst slog of the week is over and I know I can start settling into weekend mode. I couldn’t think of a better way to start doing this than by showing you Tripadvisor’s awesome list of 10 wild places to go for a swim! I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to water so my swimming experiences are limited to paddling about in the shallow end trying to look cool – but I would never turn down the opportunity to swim on the edge of Victoria Falls! Would you add any place to this list?

It might not be the ‘wildest’ place to take a swim but out of all the places I have visited, this has been my favourite swimming destination – Cuba.

Ancient Beauty

Norway has always been a country that has intrigued me, even more so after coming across these beautifully preserved ancient timber ‘stavkirke’ or stave churches. Below are pictures of the Borgund stave church (built between AD 1180 and 1250) which happens to be the best preserved stave church in Norway. It is so unbelievably beautiful, I don’t think any words could do it justice! I can’t wait to check it out in person – a trip to Norway is definitely on the cards!

Polyvore: Bad-ass

Want to know what I was up to this weekend? I discovered Polyvore. 'Uh-oh' was my first thought and then I got so consumed putting outfits together that I forgot all about how bad this would be for my bank account. This was my favourite outfit that I put together, I don't normally dress this grundgy but I guess I was full of bravado after passing my test. G’day!

A few years ago, at a particularly dull party a friend of mine suggested we play ‘pronounce the Australian town game’. Have you played it? Well you sit in front of a google map of Australia and pick places at random to pronounce. My personal favourite town name is Wagga Wagga! Ever since then, I have had a love affair with all things Australian (except their sporting teams of course, still very much arch rivals). They’re a very talented bunch. Just look at Home & Away, Kylie Minogue, Chris Hemsworth and tim tams, need I go on? And then I discovered Australian interior designers. Wow. Let me demonstrate by showing you some jaw-dropping designs by Sydney based ARA Design Studio….

P.S – thanks very much for the good luck wishes, I passed my test but I was so nervous (don’t even want to know what I am going to be like on the day of my practical test!)

My Fair London – The South Bank

It’s Friday people! I can finally breath a sigh of relief and start relaxing into the weekend! I am leaving work earlier today (to study for my driving theory test tomorrow morning), but regardless of the reason, it’s still put me in a holiday mood! Now down to the business of blogging. Have you ever walked along the South Bank in London? No? Then you are missing out! A couple of weekends back, we took a detour from our trip to Borough Market and strolled along the South Bank which was filled with street performers, musicians, book and food stalls and art installations. The best thing is that you never really know what you are going to find there – they have a beach theme going on at the moment! Oh the irony!
